Rainy Day, by Rainy Day (David Roback & friends),1984,Full album,9 songs,CD rip
With Susanna Hoffs, Kendra Smith,Vicki Peterson,Michael Quercio,Karl Precoda,Will Glenn, Steven Roback, Matthew Piucci, Dennis Duck. David Roback's 1984 album project collaborating with many musicians from Paisley Underground L.A. bands.
Originally released as a Vinyl L.P. in 1984. In 1989 Rough Trade
issued it on CD. This recording originated from a FLAC file ripped from the CD (Thanks go to the uploader who upped it as a torrent file & kindly made it available online).
The Paisley Underground scene of L.A. bands of the 1980s, of which David Roback's bands Rain Parade, Clay Allison, Opal, & Mazzy Star were a part, was in part inspired by 1960s rock/psychedelia. This Rainy Day album was David's project. It contains covers of 8 of his favourite songs from the 1960s,&one from the 1970s(Holocaust).He enlisted musicians & singers from a variety of Paisley Underground bands to collaborate on the album. David produced, & is the only musician to appear on every track.

-Kendra Smith, Dennis Duck, & Karl Precoda: THE DREAM SYNDICATE
(Kendra also sang with David in his band project Clay Allison,
which was later named Opal)
-David Roback,Steven Roback,Matt Piucci,&Will Glenn: RAIN PARADE
-Ethan James: Had been a musician in 1960s group BLUE CHEER
but by the 1980s&the time of the Paisley Underground scene he owned L.A.'s Radio Tokyo Studios &engineered bands there, including Rainy Day,Rain Parade,The Bangles, &The Minutemen.
Song Trivia: There's an interesting link between the Bob Dylan song here "I'll Keep It With Mine" & the song here "I'll Be Your Mirror". Bob reportedly wrote his song about Nico with whom he had a mid-1960s affair. Nico often sang it in her shows. And Nico sings the original version of "I'll Be Your Mirror" on the first V.U. album, a song Lou wrote for Nico!
Last I checked, other YouTubers had uploaded Rainy Day as individual songs, but with one song missing."Rainy Day, Dream Away" wasn't available. Other Rainy Day YT uploads I believe were all various rips from vinyl LPs. Vinyl rips can sound good, but there's a hit or miss aspect as many turntables don't play at precisely 33&1/3 RPM speed, but play slightly fast (sharp) or slow (flat), & thus distort the audio. A good thing about the CD rip here is it plays at the right speed, "in tune".
