Kamala Would Become The First Woman President Of The US, Says Tamil Nadu Village

Thulasenthirapuram, the ancestral village of US Vice Presidential candidate Kamala Harris' grandfather is rooting for her. Villagers here are praying for her and keep track of the results. Despite the drama and delay they keep tab of the counting process. Posters with her pictures have been put up across the village. Her maternal grandfather Gopalan who she has said has a great influence on her was born here. Many in the village say Kamala would make history by becoming the first woman President of the US in the years to come. NDTV's Sam Daniel spoke to a retired banker in the village on why the village celebrates Kamala Harris.
