Star Galaxy Keychain tutorial 💫

Supply list
* Kumihimo disk
* A weight: (I use a Nee doh drip ball attached to a binder clip with a Velcro strap) don’t laugh it works
* 12 1mm satin nylon cords. The colors I used were 8 black, 2 pink, 2 light pink, 2 lilac and 2 purple
* Sewing snips
* Regular scissors
* Needle & thread
* Aleene’s jewelry glue
* Pliers (2 pairs)
* Paper towel
* Torch lighter/ lighter
* Jump rings (I used stainless steel)
* Star key charm & key ring
* 7.5 mm brass end cap
* Pattern (I got mine off friendship-bracelets.net)

How it goes down-
Braiding:
* choose colors and cut your cord to length. I cut mine to about 26 inches, (who am I kidding I never measure!) this leaves me with a 12 inch braid and makes a 6 inch wristlet.
* Apply cord to disk according to pattern
* Start braiding by putting the bottom left cord onto the top left and then putting the top right down next to the single thread. (There are better instructions for this online) I don’t think it matters where you start the pattern should braid the same
* Braid till you run out of cord!
* Knot & stretch the cord

Finishing:
* Sew below knotted ends of cord. Leave enough room to trim off the knotted end
* I like to melt my ends with a torch lighter. You can use any lighter really, just take care not to singe the ends too far or you’ll see it on the braid. Gently single the ends and use any pair of pliers to pinch together. Repeat on other side.
* Once both sides are done gently heat them with the cord and cinch them together. This helps them to fit into the end cap.
* Find the end cap that fits your piece. For this one I used a 7.5 mm end cap
* Apply some glue to the inside of the end cap. Wipe off the glue tip (I’ve super glued many caps to the glue)
* Press the piece into the end cap, if excess glue gets into the braid just wipe off with the paper towel
* Add jump ring to end cap and add to key charm. And you’re done!
