Florante De Leon, well-known as Florante, is a singer-songwriter and considered as one of the pillars of OPM with folk-rock genre. He became part of the so-called Manila Sound in the 70's and 80's together with Freddie Aguilar, Asin, Apo Hiking Society, Coritha and many more.

He fled to Unites States after the ouster of the late Pres. Ferdinand Marcos in 1986.
