Stone sends a team on a canoe to get a closer look at the objects. The team consists of Alex, Raikes and Beast (John Tu). Alex climbs on the emerged part of the ship. By touching its surface, he receives an electric discharge, and is projected in the ocean. An impassable spherical force field springs up from the two platforms. All communications are jammed by this field and a fighter plane crashes on it. Three extraterrestrial ships emerge around the first one

What’s the movie Battleship about?
Pacific Ocean... Off the coast of Hawaii, the US Navy is deploying all its power. The young and impulsive Lieutenant Alex Hopper (Taylor Kitsch from Friday Night Lights) is close to resigning from the US Navy. His brother Stone (Alexander Skarsgård from Melancholia and Generation Kill), who is a higher ranking officer than he is, laments his many antics. As a large part of the fleet, mobilized for a full-scale exercise with ships from different countries, leaves Pearl Harbor, a strange and threatening shape emerges on the surface of the waters, followed by dozens of others with an unimaginable power of destruction. Who are they? What were they doing, hidden for so long at the bottom of the ocean? The stunned soldiers soon realize that the mysterious visitors, who have come to plunder the Earth's resources, are also motivated by hostile intentions. Aboard the USS John Paul Jones, young officer Hopper, Admiral Shane (Brooklyn Decker from Just Go With It) and NCO Raikes (Rihanna) discover that the ocean is not always as peaceful as it seems. The battle to save our planet begins at sea.
