David Paul was born on March 8, 1957, a minute before his twin brother Peter Paul. David's hometown is the small town of Hartford, Connecticut, USA.

As a teenager, David played American football and wrestled, both sports requiring considerable physical strength and large muscle mass. Later, he switched exclusively to bodybuilding. It is known that at the age of 15, David, weighing just over 65 kg, could bench press a barbell weighing 136 kg. As he got older, at the peak of his athletic form, he could already handle a weight of 230 kg, using a reverse grip.

In the late seventies, young brothers David and Peter Paul opened their own gym with the telling name "House of Metal". But then they left their brainchild and moved to the world of bodybuilding - to California - in search of fame.

During their active training, the brothers trained at the famous Gold's Gym under the guidance of Peter Grimkowski. From 1983 to 2005, the brothers starred in more than a dozen films, the most famous and popular for Russian viewers was the 1994 comedy film "Twin Sitters". The simple plot attracted attention largely due to the two main characters, twin bodybuilders David and Peter Falcone (the brothers' names were retained in the film).

The brothers never participated in bodybuilding competitions, although they were seen as invited guests and awards presenters at many high-ranking competitions, including the Arnold Classic and Mr. Olympia.

On March 6, 2020, David Paul died in his sleep, two days before his 63rd birthday. Information about David Paul's death was confirmed by his twin brother Peter. David's family is keeping the cause of his death under wraps. However, according to sources, when he had not contacted his family for a long time since the morning of March 6, his loved ones went to his home.

David's beloved dog Cowboy was seriously ill with cancer, and David was very worried about it. David was found dead on his bed, with Cowboy lying on his side. The doctors' conclusion said that David died in his sleep. No traces of drugs or alcohol were found nearby. Cowboy died a few days after David's death.
