Homestead Exemptions on School Real Estate Tax

Lebanon PA, 2.25.2016: An Educational video by Lebanon County Commissioner Jo Ellen Litz. Each year the State receives gaming money to provide property tax relief. The State calculates a formula based upon things like ability to pay, millage, and more, for each school district in Pennsylvania, and notifies them of their new rate around June.

In many counties, March 1 is the deadline to renew your Homestead Exemption, which must be updated every three years. However, in Lebanon County, Chief Assessor Dan Seaman said the exemption will renew automatically. No need to call or stop in. The Exemption reduces your school real estate tax.
