Hereditary Priesthood at The Temple of Hekate, Lagina #hekateworldsoul

♥ Hekate's temple in Lagina (modern Southern Turkey) is perhaps her most famous. Here Hekate was served by a hereditary priesthood, where young girls carried a key in procession from her - while their mothers served as priestesses and their fathers as priests.

In this video I discuss this, and read a modern English translation of one of the inscriptions found at Lagina. This temple is discussed in much more detail in my book Circle For Hekate: Volume I, History and Mythology.
