Exclusive: Gov. Whitmer & Senator McCann on affordability, AI, jobs, running for Congress

Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer joined State Senator Sean McCann in Kalamazoo Thursday, lending her endorsement to his congressional bid and listening alongside him as constituents opened up about many cost-of-living concerns that are driving his campaign.

“We’re ready to face the issues that people are confronting every day,” McCann said.

McCann, a Kalamazoo native and Western Michigan University graduate, is running for Michigan’s Fourth Congressional District.

The seat is currently held by Republican Congressman Bill Huizenga.

Michigan's Fourth Congressional District covers communities across Southwest Michigan, including Kalamazoo, Portage, and surrounding townships.
