TRIP REPORT | Widerøe & SAS [new cabin] SAS Plus Dash 8-Q400 & A321 TRF-CPH-BLQ | WF311 & SK2685

Come along with me on this trip from Sandefjord/Torp (Norway) to Bologna (Italy) via Copenhagen (Denmark) with Widerøe and SAS in SAS Plus/Widerøe Flex. I have traveled in the Flex class before and back then a light meal was served, but sadly today's inflight service left a lot to be desired. Only a piece of chocolate with coffee/tea was served, and when I asked the steward if any meal would be served, he said they no longer did a service differentiation between Economy an Flex. At least they could've offered some items from the BOB menu free of charge for the Flex passengers, but that wasn't the case. Quite disappointing! Keep in mind that there is no lounge at Torp/Sandefjord, nor does Widerøe offer a voucher to some kind of airport restaurant or café. So unless you buy something at the airport or have a connecting flight out of CPH (for instance) where you have lounge access, you will go hungry on WF. With that being said, the crew were friendly and apologetic, and the flight was right on time; we even landed 20 minutes ahead of scheduled. At CPH I had access to the SAS Lounge, which is pretty nice and modern with a decent (but a bit lackluster) food selection. Soups are always my favorite food in the SAS Lounge, and today's creamy Thai-style soup didn't disappoint. In addition there was a nice assortment of sandwiches and wraps, which I hadn't seen before in an SAS Lounge. If you aren't traveling in SAS Plus/Business or don't have status with Star Alliance, you can buy lounge access for 24€ during online check-in or 30€ at the reception, which I think is a reasonable price and much better than the crowded cafeterias with overpriced food. The second flight was operated by an A321 with the new and fresh-looking SAS cabin... but just like on my flight to Bergen a month and a half earlier, once again the WiFi didn't work. However, the crew were very friendly and the service was great: without even asking, the elderly Swedish F/A who was serving me handed me a candy bag as well as two chocolate boxes instead of one. Despite the SAS Plus cabin consisting of 11 rows it was only one third full, meaning there was plenty of space to spread out, and during the second half of the flight there was also a beautiful sunset. I hope you will enjoy the video, don't hesitate to leave a comment and be sure to like & subscribe if you haven't already done so!
