Sundays are made for Cars & Coffee and this time we take a look at Rover which was formally a very prestigious and innovative British car manufacturer.
I get comfortable in Rovers first all new post war model, the P4 which would have been the envy of many middle class British households throughout those early post war years. There is also a nice selection of P5 and P5B saloon and coupe models on show and I talk with the owner of a Series 1 P6 V8 who fell in love with the car after starting work in a Rover garage at a young age.
There's plenty of more modern examples too with the Rover/Honda (often referred to as Rhonda's) models such as the R8 416 GSI complete with factory optional beige leather interior and Rovers version of the Accord with an incredibly low mileage 600 which was originally a Japanese export car meaning it has all the bells and whistles. It also still had the unmistakable aroma when you open the door that could only be a 90's Rover which transported me back in time to my Grandfathers R8 200's and HHR 400 Series of the same era. I also discuss the 75 with it's young owner and catch up with Rover fan and YouTuber Rover Joe and his latest Viking ship, a gold 25 Advantage S which he had been hard at work on.
