Odisha Govt issues Show Cause Notice To Blind Association Over Alleged Commercial Use of Land

The General Administration and Public Grievance Department has served a notice to the Odisha Blind Association located in Kharavel Nagar, Bhubaneswar. According to officials, a portion of the government land leased to the association for welfare and educational purposes is allegedly being used for commercial activities.

An inspection report prepared after a recent field survey reportedly found that part of the leased land has been developed into a Kalyan Mandap and is being utilized for commercial purposes. The government has now initiated proceedings that could potentially lead to the cancellation of the lease and recovery of the land.

The association has been asked to submit its written explanation and supporting documents within 15 days. The development has sparked debate over compliance with lease rules and the future of the institution.
