Modes of Operation of MOSFET Explained Cut-off, Linear & Saturation ⚡#electronics #viral #trending

Modes of Operation of MOSFET ⚡
A MOSFET operates in different regions depending on the values of gate-to-source voltage VGS and drain-to-source voltage VDS.
Understanding these modes is essential for circuit design and exam preparation.
Cut-off Region:
When gate-to-source voltage is less than threshold voltage, no inversion channel is formed and the MOSFET remains OFF.
Triode or Linear Region:
When gate-to-source voltage is greater than threshold voltage and drain-to-source voltage is small, the MOSFET behaves as a voltage-controlled resistor.
Saturation Region:
When gate-to-source voltage is greater than threshold voltage and drain-to-source voltage is sufficiently large, the MOSFET operates in saturation and allows controlled drain current for amplification.
This explains how the same MOSFET shows different behavior under different voltage conditions.
