20-YEAR-OLD COULD BECOME SPAIN'S FIRST QUEEN IN 150 YEARS#shorts #viral

Princess Leonor just turned 20, and she's lined up to become Spain's first reigning queen since Isabella II in the 1800s. Her dad, King Felipe VI, has no sons, and Leonor is the eldest of his two daughters, which puts her next in line. The kinda awkward catch is that Spain's male-preference succession rule is still on the books, so if her parents ever had a son, the baby brother would jump ahead of her. Not super likely at this point, but technically possible.

She's also been preparing in ways most royals don't. Leonor is doing a full 3-year military rotation across the Army, Navy, and Air & Space Force, the same path her father took before becoming king. As monarch she'd also be the supreme commander of the Spanish armed forces, so the training isn't ceremonial. She's already sailed thousands of miles on the Juan Sebastián de Elcano training ship as part of the naval year.
