BEFORE THE STORM POTA at US-10578

Hi folks,

Today I am in Missouri, at the Shimmel City Access State Conservation Area, US-10578, as I do a CW (Morse code) Parks on the Air activation. I was just in front of a storm system that was going to blow in later that day. The sky was cloudy, the winds were blowing, and you could feel the loaded humid atmosphere in the air. I wanted to sneak a activation in before the storms hit. Fortunately, they skimmed us and went south of my location. We just received rain.

Enjoy the different activation, where I am sitting in my ALU-CAB camper as I complete a QRP CW Parks on the Air activation.

Quick note: this is a limited access area. Even with the weather being kind of icky and it being in the middle of the weekday, there was still traffic driving in and out. On the weekend, I’m sure this gets busy. Ask the notes say in the POTA app, try to be respectful of other people as they want to enjoy their day.
