The chemistry between the two both on screen and off screen is sizzling and everyone loved this couple. So why didn’t Amitabh Ji get married to Rekha eventually? This is the question that comes in everyone’s mind. Amitabh was already married when he got engaged with Rekha. But this was not the reason why Amitabh never married Rekha. Amitabh and Rekha’s love story began on the sets of ‘Do Anjana’. Both of them fell for each other. Interestingly when Amitabh first met Rekha, he was already married to Jaya but Amitabh never cared . But despite being married, Amitabh went on to have an affair with Rekha. They were engaged in deep love. The two tried to hide everything but their relationship became a hot topic and soon the news of their affair came in news . Jaya knew about her husband’s extra marital affair but she couldn’t do anything. It was a pathetic phase of her life. Things got really ugly when Rekha went to Rishi Kapoor’s wedding wearing sindoor and mangalsutra. Rumor were that Amitabh and Rekha got married secretly and some of their close friends knew about their marriage. Amitabh never accepted his relationship with Rekha, and Rekha never denied it!. But it was director Yash Chopra who confirmed their affair during an interview. So Amitabh and Rekha was madly in love but there lovestory didn’t end up in official marriage. Well, Rekha and Amitabh couldn’t get married actually because of Jaya Bachchan. Reportedly, Jaya once invited Rekha for dinner and said that she would never leave Amitabh. Jaya was not ready to give Amitabh divorce at any cost. And Amitabh also had no intention of leaving Jaya because it would harm his public image. Basically Rekha understood that Amitabh would never leave Jaya for her. But Rekha was also not happy to be the Amitabh’s extra marital partner. So, she decided to break up all the contacts with Amitabh. But, the truth is, both Rekha and Amitabh was never moved on from their affair. And it is believed that even after her husband’s death, Rekha wears sindoor only for her secret marriage with Amitabh. But today’s truth is that Amitabh is happily married to Jaya and Rekha is still alone
