RAPID LIFE Virtual End of Project Conference Part 1
RAPID Revelations! was the virtual end of project conference for the RAPID (Reducing and Preventing Invasive Alien Species Dispersal) LIFE Project. RAPID was a three year (2017 – 2020) EU LIFE Project, led by the Animal and Plant Health Agency in partnership with Natural England Bristol Zoological Society.
The goal of the project was to: protect aquatic, riparian and coastal biodiversity by embedding a coordinated, strategic and evidence approach to managing IAS across England, whilst demonstrating the efficacy of this approach for replication across Europe. You can find out more about the RAPID LIFE Project (including the agenda for the conference) here: www.nonnativespecies.org/rapid
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the final conference for RAPID LIFE took place via Zoom. This took place on 9th July 2020 and mainly covered what was achieved during the project, as well as having two notable invasive species specialists as keynote speakers.
This video (Part 1) is a recording of the morning session of RAPID Revelations! It includes a general presentation on the project, our two key note speaker presentations and a presentation on classical control of Japanese knotweed and Himalayan balsam.
