The Bird Brain That Controlled a Bomb (1942) 🐦🚀 #WWII #History #1942 #Science #IconicTalesBR #shorts

1942. Before computers, the U.S. military tried to use nature to guide missiles. Psychologist B.F. Skinner developed "Project Pigeon." He trained pigeons to peck at a screen inside a bomb’s nose cone to keep it centered on a target. When the bird pecked at a ship’s image, the bomb’s fins would move to steer it. Tests showed the pigeons were surprisingly accurate, even under heavy fire. However, the military generals thought the idea was too ridiculous to use in real combat. The project was eventually cancelled, leaving the world’s first "smart bomb" to be powered by birdseed.
