But that’s only the beginning of how strange these creatures are. Komodo dragons are the largest lizards on Earth, growing up to 3 meters long and weighing around 90 kilograms. Their bite is also incredibly dangerous. Their saliva carries venom that prevents blood from clotting, causing prey to weaken and slowly collapse. And their sense of smell? Absolutely terrifying. Using their forked tongue, Komodo dragons can detect dead animals almost 10 kilometers away. Honestly, it’s probably the closest thing we have to a real-life dragon.
