Project Underdog is a fitting metaphor for daring to dream — Sung Kang and all the folks involved with the project are taking an underappreciated car and creating a brilliant example of ambition, initiative, and enthusiasm.

Jim Moore and Matt George Cordato of SEMA and Sherry Kollien of Ford Motor Company talk about Project Underdog and how it represents building for the future. If installing a Ford Ecoboost motor isn't enough, Kenji Sumino explains GReddy's work on the turbocharger.

Finally, visits to Formula Drift and Hot Wheels, as well as time spent with IndyCar driver Roger Yasukawa, help ignite Tony, Alexis, and Christian's passion for automotive enthusiasm.

In the inspiring and uplifting Project Underdog, Sung Kang is working with students handpicked from a local high school, Pennzoil, SEMA (the Specialty Equipment Market Association), and the best in the industry to restore and completely rebuild a 1972 Ford Maverick. The UDreamTeam of students and motivated professionals will be designing and giving new life to the Maverick — the ultimate underdog, and the car that Sung’s character Han drove in the Fast & Furious movie Fast Five. Once completed, the Underdog car will be auctioned off with all proceeds going to scholarships and charities.
