Josh Hawley went on Fox News furious that four Republican senators — Collins, McConnell, Murkowski, and Tillis — voted against attaching a federal voter ID requirement to the budget reconciliation bill. What he left out is that the vote was procedurally dead before it started, Trump pushed for it specifically to expose who would say no, and the senators who voted against it all had documented reasons. The legislation was a prop. The enemies list was the point.
