The PPP is a loan that is offered in the Cares Act and though the loan is a great option for business owners, entrepreneurs, independent contractors, and gig workers, there are many people not taking advantage of this program because there is a common misconception that you have to have employees, you have to have an EIN and you have to have an LLC to apply. But this is not the case.

So, today I am going to be walking you through the steps of how to apply for the PPP using the website BlueVine (www.bluevine.com).

I am not affiliated with Blue Vine in any way, but in looking at these applications, I have found that Blue Vines is the easiest to use. Before we begin I encourage you to gather a few documents….

Make sure you have your schedule C tax form - you WILL need this when applying
Make sure to have an idea of what your total revenue for 2019 was for your business. This can be in a proper LLC format, but it can also be just simply going through your business or personal bank statements and adding up all income that you brought in through your business - it does not have to be complicated.
You will need your 2020 February bank statement. You can access this from your banking institution's website, but you will need this in order to complete the application.

Other than these three documents, you will need to know your Social Security Number, your address, and various other personal information like email, phone number...etc.

Once you have gathered the data you need, the application process is very simple - You can follow this video directly and just pause as you go. Once you submit the application Bluevine may prompt you into providing more information to them to verify your application. I would encourage you to provide this info right there and don’t wait.

But, the info you will need to provide will vary greatly depending on you and your business, but you may need to send over a PDF version of your schedule C, you may need to provide bank statements, tax documents...etc.

Once you provide all your info and all the necessary documents, Blue vine will say your application is complete and they will let you know if there is anything else you need to do.

Once that happens, it is simply a waiting game and it may be a week or two (or more) before you hear anything.
