This happened near Minneriya lake when a giant elephant decides to cross the lake itself to rejoin its herd in the other side. This giant has been wandering alone away from the herd, and now seeks to rejoin after a moment of solitude. Such sceneries aren't rare in Polonnaruwa as it is an ancient part of Sri Lanka with close ties to elephants across its history.
