This audio edition presents a scholarly analysis of structural and ethical challenges shaping accountability in the non-profit sector.

The article examines power asymmetries between donors and beneficiaries, administrative and reporting burdens, confidentiality dilemmas, sectoral variation in accountability expectations, and tensions between donor-driven and mission-driven approaches.

The analysis demonstrates that accountability is not merely a procedural requirement but a political and ethical structure shaped by inequality, institutional constraints, and competing normative frameworks.

By advocating proportional, context-sensitive, and hybrid accountability models, the article argues that non-profit organisations can preserve mission integrity while maintaining legitimacy and regulatory compliance.
