Abrahamson – Nocturne No. 2, Op. 3 “Lights” | 2026 Studio Recording

I wrote this piece in the Spring of 2024, and, contrary to the other nocturne in the set which took months to compose, this one seemingly wrote itself in a single day. This was originally going to be the middle section of a larger nocturne but it felt so tight and uniquely itself that it branched off into its own piece. That downbeat is key and so satisfying to play.

I re-recorded this Nocturne at "THUD" studio in Seattle on a Steinway B, which is regarded to be the best B on the West coast by the head tuner from the Steinway gallery in Seattle. It was quite the instrument and a beautiful space.
