Flying 16 HOURS With China Southern Economy

When you book the absolute cheapest flight to Europe, you usually expect a miserable experience. I booked a budget economy ticket with China Southern (the 6th largest airline in the world), fully expecting to be crammed into a high-density cabin for 13 hours.

I was completely wrong.

While almost every major airline in the world has squeezed 10 seats across on their Boeing 777s, China Southern is quietly running an industry-leading 3-3-3 layout. I actually got incredible width and legroom on a dirt-cheap fare.

From navigating the massive Chengdu (CTU) and Guangzhou (CAN) transit hubs, to testing the economy meals (and that strange boxed breakfast), to finding out if the service matches the seat width. Is this the ultimate budget travel cheat code to Europe?
