HR trap Questions 👇 #systemdesign #interviewpreparation #coding #interviewquestions
This question is not about your current company. It's about YOUR character.
HR is checking:
→ Are you a complainer?
→ Will you talk badly about us to your next employer?
→ Are you running away or running towards something?
Wrong answers that kill offers:
"My manager is toxic" (you'll seem difficult)
"No growth or learning" (sounds like you gave up)
"Better salary" (sounds purely transactional)
"Company is not doing well" (never badmouth your employer)
What they want to hear:
You're moving TOWARDS something. Not running AWAY from something.
Say this:
"I've genuinely enjoyed my time there and learned a lot.
I'm at a stage now where I want to work on [specific thing this company does — product scale, tech stack, domain].
This role felt like the right next step for where I want to grow professionally."
Positive about past. ✅
Excited about future. ✅
No complaints. ✅
Specific to THEIR company. ✅
One rule:
Never say anything negative about your current employer.
No matter how bad it is. Save it for your friends. 😅
