Kadlec Healthy Ages is a FREE membership program expressing Kadlec Regional Medical Center's commitment to the health care needs and concerns of the 50+ population. The following are this month's presenters:

MANAGING KNEE OSTEOARTHRITIS
Mary Lynn Scovazzo, MD

Highlights

Biography
Dr. Scovazzo is a fellowship-trained orthopaedic medicine specialist who specializes in arthroscopic shoulder and knee surgery. While training at the Kerlan-Jobe Clinic in Los Angeles, she cared for professional athletes: The Lakers, Dodgers, Kings, and Rams. In Pittsburgh she worked with the Penguins Hockey team for a year and also spent 12 years caring for Division III college athletes at Carnegie-Mellon University. In addition to the caring for acute and chronic athletic injuries, she provides fracture care and treats arthritis.

David Gibbons, MD

Highlights

Diplomate, American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery; Fellow, American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.

Biography
Dr. Gibbons is a fellowship-trained orthopaedic Sports Medicine & Shoulder specialist. He has extensive surgical and nonsurgical training in the treatment of sports related injuries, including the arthroscopic treatment of rotator cuff disease and shoulder instability, and the treatment of ligament and cartilage injuries of the knee, ankle, and elbow. Dr. Gibbons specializes in the management of shoulder disorders, including reverse and standard total shoulder replacement. He also has expertise in fracture management and general orthopaedic care of adults and children.
