Growing up in foster care teaches you a lot of things. Trusting people is not one of them.

Last night after talking to a friend I realized just how easy it is for people to forget that what seems like a basic human right is not always that simple.
That conversation is exactly why I continue to show up and create content about the foster care system and its impact on the development of youth.

Ignorance is a choice. Awareness is too.
