Expert: Pre-symptomatic COVID-19 patients can start spreading virus 2-3 days before having symptoms

An infectious diseases expert underscores the importance of clarifying scientific terms. While there's no clear evidence yet that true asymptomatic COVID-19 patients or patients who never show symptoms throughout the course of the disease, are contagious, Dr. Edsel Salvaña of the Philippine General Hospital says there are so-called pre-symptomatic patients who can start spreading the virus two to three days before developing symptoms.
