Hawker Hurricane Mk IIc - 2 Victories in Dogfight over Dover | Cinematic WW2 Air Combat Missions

On this channel I'm sharing dogfighting videos from all ages of flight! Currently I'm flying missions in Russian, American, German and British planes like the P-51 Mustang, P-47 Thunderbolt, Bf-109, FW-190, Spitfire, Hurricane and the IL-2 Sturmovik attack plane but I'm also really looking forward to Combat Pilot for some PTO action and IL-2 Korea!! The Cinematic Missions featured on my Channel have been created to demonstrate how classic planes, from golden epochs of aviation, performed. I hope you enjoy them!

Campaign: The Blitz, 1940-1941

The Luftwaffe is targeting ports and coastal cities. Patrol the eastern coast, up to Dover. Engage any enemy aircraft you encounter.

The above mission is, of course, fictional, but it is based on reality. Two Hurricanes armed with cannons did participate in the Battle of Britain. Both were flown by Flight Lt Roddick Smith of 151 Squadron at North Weald. They were not officially part of the squadron strength. One was armed with 2 x 20mm cannons, the other with 4 as per the familiar MkIIc introduced in 1941. Flt Lt Smith took the aircraft with 2 x 20mm cannons into combat and was awarded a probable kill of a Bf 109, and subsequently, a kill of a Dornier Do17. In late August he flew the 4 x 20mm cannon aircraft and got a probable Bf109 with that. So yes (to my surprise, as I knew nothing about this until I had a good old Google) a Hurricane with 4 x 20mm was flying in the Battle of Britain! - Thank you to @paulhicks6667 for this contribution.
