On board a Brighton Beach bound R46 Q train from 96 Street to Brighton Beach

Seen here is a ride on a Q train, operated by R46, bound for Brighton Beach.

Due to track replacement until February 26, Q train service is truncated to Brighton Beach for the week. Passengers who want to go to Coney Island, would have to take free shuttle bus to Coney Island for continuing service. Also goes for F train service as well since it was truncated to Kings Highway as well, but that’s its rush hour terminal during the weekday, but that’s due to CBTC work since they are still implementing it on the Culver line.

This one just came in as a late train, but was already ready to go downtown. Also my phone accidentally stopped recording when we got to 86 Street, but I continued on after I restarted the video up again. Also, N and R trains were running express due to weekend construction since Q trains were running a few minutes apart, but it wasn’t affected since it was normal weekend express.

By the time we got to Brighton Beach, there were track crews working around the time since we were going into the other tracks since the other tracks to Coney Island were closed, and when we got into the station, this was taken out of service, which felt lucky for me since I got it at 96 Street, took it downtown to Brighton Beach, express in Manhattan, local in Brooklyn. Although the yard passageway was closed due to track replacement south of Brighton Beach, so it went back the other way to get to the yard.

It’s been a while I haven’t done a Q to Brighton Beach, even though the last time I did it, it was a late run for me, but I did the run all the way there, even though it was midday work done during that day, but this one, this one was critical work needed to be done.
