FREEZING TEMPERATURES | Day 6 - Everest Base Camp and Gokyo Lakes trek | Nepal travel vlog 2019

Our trek took us from Dole to Machhermo today on our way to Everest Base Camp and Gokyo Lakes. We spent the morning trekking before arriving in Machhermo. On our trek we saw lots of yaks, wild cotton growing and then it started lightly snowing.

We had lunch at our teahouse in Machhermo before beginning our acclimatisation hike up a nearby mountain. There was no track and it was very slippery as it was heavily snowing. Although it was a little scary, as we were using our hands as well to help us up the mountain, I loved it. I had never been snowed on before so I was amazed. It made the scenery even more beautiful.

We had a few spare hours in the afternoon before enjoying a warm dinner and hot chocolate. Overnight it got down to -6 degrees celcius.
