If you owe money on your timeshare it generally means that you have a deed through which you have a mortgage. So, if you paid $20,000 for your timeshare and put $5,000 of that money down then you would have a $15,000 mortgage that would come with a P+E payment each month on top of your maintenance fees which are typically due in January.
