"Best Laid Plans" - an old time radio mystery

Spend five minutes in a time warp. A micro radio play from the 1940's.
A mystery is presented and the audience is given a short time to solve it.
Can you solve it?
To make it a challenge for the performers (and more fun) the episode was recorded without pause, as if it was actually going live to air.
Sound affects were all produced on the spot i.e. none were edited in afterwards and also produced manually (old time foley) where possible.
