Darwin's turtles: The legacy of the evolutionary biologist on Mauritius | Docu in 4K

Since the discovery and colonisation of Mauritius 400 years ago, man has intervened heavily in the sensitive ecosystem. Some of the native species have been exterminated, such as the dodo, the giant tortoise and the Mauritius falcon. None other than Charles Darwin, the founder of evolutionary biology, resettled the Aldabra turtles. On the offshore island of Îles aux Aigrettes, Mauritius' "Noah's Ark", his legacy continues to this day.
