With so many epic and awesome movies at our disposal, how could we ever lament not having more? Well, that's what we explore in our new series, The Movie That Almost Was, where we take a look at films that got deep into the planning, pre-production and sometimes actual production, only to never see the light of day. What happened? What went wrong? Are we better or worse off without it?

For our first episode, we take a look at one of the most famous Almost-Was movies: James Cameron's Spider-Man! Cameron worked diligently on this one, even writing a detailed "scriptment" along with concept art/storyboards and casting choices in mind, including Leonardo DiCaprio as a potential Peter Parker/Spider-Man. Can you imagine a James Cameron directed Spider-Man? Well, that's what we'll have to do as we explore it right here!
