Alexander Scriabin's 24 Preludes, Op. 11 is a set of preludes composed in the course of eight years between 1888–96. “each prelude is a small composition which can exist self-contained, independent of the other preludes”. Skryabin’s Préludes of 1895/96 are sometimes referred to as his “musical diary” since they arose primarily during his recreational travels and concert tours. However, the composer never expressed himself directly on the subject of these alleged allusions, and the music itself is far removed from picturesque- ness and explicit depiction. – from G Henge Verlag edition ©
