In the spring, all the snow melts from the mountains and the surrounding area and flows into the Gruner See Lake, causing it to overflow. The waters then submerge the park completely. Divers exploring the park underwater during this time see a whole new world where trout have made their homes under the bridges and benches. Some of the Alpine flowers even begin to bloom underwater.
