Telangana Government to Implement Revised Land Market Values from Day After Tomorrow

Revenue Minister Pongulet Srinivas Reddy announced that the state government's decision to revise land market values will come into effect the day after tomorrow. He stated that the new land valuations were determined after a rational and scientific field-level study, conducted in accordance with a report submitted by economist Arvind Subramanian. The minister criticized the previous BRS government for unscientifically raising land prices and registration charges twice within just six months in 2021 and 2022. He clarified that no increase has been proposed for areas that already have high market values, while minimum basic rates have been fixed for agricultural lands, plots, and flats within HMDA, CURE, and other regions. Additionally, rates for RCC and non-RCC constructions in both rural and urban areas have been revised to reflect the significant rise in construction material costs and labor wages over the past five years.
