In this video I'll be sharing with you guys a few of my top food choices when it comes to gaining muscle mass, and why each of these are great choices for mass gainer foods! Keep in mind the number one rule to gaining size is being in a caloric surplus so each of these foods will have higher carbs & fats to you hit those numbers daily! 🍞🥩🍓🍚
1️⃣ First up, we've got red meats. Beef, lamb, bison, patties, steaks, grounded meats - there's a ton of variety you can choose from. Now red meat is great for building muscle because it contains a high amount of leucine. Every 6oz is roughly 3g of leucine which is a key amino acid to stimulate protein synthesis. Also, red meat is a great natural source of creatine and is one of the best supplements you can put into your body for gaining muscle and strength. Red meats are also higher in fats which will help put you into that caloric surplus.
2️⃣ Second, we've got dried fruits. These are high in calories, and super high in antioxidants, micronutrients, and fiber. These are also super easy to eat, so another great choice I recommend.
3️⃣ Third, is rice. Rice is a very clean carb but also because it's super cheap, super easy to make (try a rice cooker out!), and rice is also super nutrient dense. 36g of carbs for just 1/4 cup of rice.
4️⃣ Fourth up is cooking oils. Cooking oils are super high in calories and healthy fats. 1g of fat = 9g of calories vs 4 calories in carbs and proteins. Cooking oils are extremely easy to add into your chicken breast, beef, eggs, or even just salad. You'll be adding calories up very quickly by adding oils into your diet plan!
5️⃣ Last, we have bread. Bread is super cheap, I usually just get the off-brand whole grain bread. You can get sprouted bread, such as Ezekiel or Daves if you'd like but I like the whole grains choice because the grain is still intact. The grain hasn't been processed like white bread has, so you'll be able to absorb the nutrients better.
