$15 TVBox USB video capture device - Junk or gem?

Despite negative reviews when it was new in 2006, the TVBox provides high-quality video capture at a bargain price... as long as any analog videotape sources you're capturing contain a time base corrector (TBC). It supports NTSC, PAL, and SECAM and also has a now-mostly-useless analog TV tuner with remote control.

eBay listing for the TVBox (while supplies last):

32/64-bit Windows 7+ drivers (feel free to upload elsewhere):

Note that the 64-bit driver seems rather flakey; switching to the S-video input will often make it crash, and I couldn't get it to work at all in AMCap. Your best bet may be to use it on a 32-bit system.
