To send an iMessage with an animation on your iPhone, type your message, then press and hold the send button. This will open a menu where you can select either Bubble effects (like Loud or Slam) or Screen effects (like Balloons or Confetti). After choosing an effect and previewing it by swiping, tap the send button again to send your animated message.
For Bubble Effects:
Type your message in the text field of your iMessage conversation.
Touch and hold the blue send button (the arrow icon).
This will open the "Send with Effect" menu.
Tap the "Bubble" tab at the top to see the bubble effects.
Swipe left or right to preview effects like Loud, Gentle, Slam, or Invisible Ink.
Once you've chosen one, tap the blue send button to send the message with that effect.
For Full-Screen Effects:
Type your message in the text field.
Touch and hold the blue send button.
In the menu that appears, tap the "Screen" tab.
Swipe left to browse and preview various full-screen animations.
After selecting your desired effect, tap the blue send button to send the message with the animation.
Additional Tips:
Add Effects to Photos or Videos:
In a conversation, tap the Camera button, then tap the Effects button to add Memoji or other effects to photos or videos before sending them.
Use iOS 18 for Word Effects:
With iOS 18 and later, you can select a single word or phrase and add specific animation effects to it directly from the text editing menu.
Check Settings:
If you can't see or send full-screen effects, you may need to adjust your "Reduce Motion" settings in your iPhone's Accessibility settings.
