In 1969, A Vietnamese Platoon Tried To Ambush 5 Australian SAS
In 1969, a Viet Cong platoon tracked down a 6-man Australian SAS patrol near the Courtenay Rubber Plantation — and paid dearly for it.

This is the story of Captain Chris Roberts and L Troop, 3 Squadron SASR: how they moved undetected through enemy territory, what happened when 40+ NVA soldiers closed in around them, and how they fought their way out without losing a single man.

1,200 patrols. 492 enemy casualties. 1 Australian SAS killed in action.
Sources include Chris Roberts' oral history from the Australian Department of Veterans' Affairs and archival footage from the Australian War Memorial.
