Evion Group gains EU backing for Madagascar Graphite Project

Evion Group (ASX:EVG) is pushing ahead with its Maniry Graphite Project in Madagascar, following formal recognition by the European Union recently as a preferred critical raw materials supplier.

This recognition positions Maniry as a key contributor to Europe’s efforts to secure and diversify its supply of graphite — with Evion now the only African graphite project included in the EU’s Critical Raw Materials program.

The company recently met with EU-backed funding partners and discussed infrastructure upgrades to support Maniry’s export capacity.

Evion is also deepening its commitment to the local Maniry community, working alongside European advisers to roll out training and employment programs for construction and future mining operations.

Evion's managing director David Round said: "We are excited by the level of engagement with EU Officials recently and the EU Critical Minerals Advisory team is playing a very significant role in fast tracking our development with a range of substantial commitments.”

The company is now seeking grant support for early-stage community initiatives — a key step to ensure lasting social and economic benefits as the project progresses toward development.
