Nuremberg Underground | What is ACTUALLY below the city.
Hey everyone! OKKO twins here. :)
A Hidden Gem!
Living in Nuremberg, we finally got the chance to see what is below the city...it's underground! Stretched in a labyrinth maze, stone tunnels and cellars are actually in the heart of the city's old town (altstadt).
In the 14th century, every citizen who brewed beer was legally required to construct a cellar so that they could store their beer at the correct temperature.
There are 4 levels overall (the top floor actually is currently a parting lot), but there are many events and performances that regularly take place.
Grab a jacket even in the hot summer, the underground is still nice and cool.
A little bit more about the logistics of the tour:
Tickets can be purchased in advance at the Tourist Information, Hauptmarkt 18 or from the guide shortly before the tour. The tour itself is about 1 hour and there are audio guides free of charge in English, Spanish, French, Russian, Italian, Portuguese and Chinese. Ticket prices are 11 euros for an adult, 9 euros students and children under 7 are free. There is also a family ticket ~ check out the website: https://www.historische-felsengaenge.de/en/tours/historic-rock-cut-cellars.html.
Thank you for watching! We are picking up our pace releasing more videos, enjoy!
