The Polaroid Zip printer was easy to set up and start using. The video is of my very first print with it.

After unboxing, I plugged the printer in to charge (it comes with an included usb cable, but I had to use the wall plug from my phone as that was not included). The QR code for getting the app didn't work, but I just typed "Polaroid Zip" into the app store search and it was 3rd in the results. It installed on my iphone 6 with no issues.

The top of the printer slides off and there is a space for the paper. There are no cartridges, just sheets which you place in. This was extremely simple to do.

You hold down the power for several seconds to turn the printer on. A white indicator light will come on. Then you need to find it in your phone's bluetooth. I did this and then opened the app. It's very intuitive to use. You choose a photo, make any wanted adjustments, then hit print. I had taken long enough finding my wanted photo that I had to turn the printer on again (as you can see in my video), after which it worked fine.

It does take a while to send the photo to the printer, but once it starts, it is very fast. You can touch the photo as soon as it finishes. The color is fairly accurate to my phone, and the quality looks pretty good.

The paper sheets are actually stickers with peel-off backs, but you can leave the backing on to have a normal photo. The size is a bit smaller than a business card. The sheets are currently 47 cents each on Amazon when you get a 50 pack.

Since I recently reviewed the SereneLife Pickit portable printer, I know some of you want comparisons. The Pickit paper is a bit larger, and the printer itself is also larger. The quality of the prints looks the same. They are both about equally close to matching the color on my screen. The Pickit prints are brighter, but you can adjust brightness in the Polaroid app if needed. In the Pickit app, you also need to hit Save before hitting Print if you've made adjustments.

For the Pickit, you can choose either regular or sticker paper. The Pickit paper is currently a bit more expensive per print. The Pickit also takes cartridges, whereas with the Polaroid you simply put in the special zinc inkless sheets. The Polaroid puts out a completed print, whereas the Pickit puts it out and then draws it back in four times, doing each color and then a top coat in separate passes.

I prefer the printing method of the Polaroid, but I like the size of the Pickit. I don't find either printer to be significantly superior to the other, only different. Hopefully this review will help you decide which will better suit your needs.
