The #1 problem when the gas sits in the bottom of the carburetor, in the bowl, it separates and creates a green slim which then block all the ports so gas can't get into the engine.

Clean the carb and you are good to go.

What to do at the end of the season. If you have a shut off valve between the gas tank and carb then shut it off start and run the engine until it dies. This is using up all the fuel in the bowl of the carb. If you don't have a valve then run the the engine til it dies. I like the second option since it's best to put fresh gas in at the beginning of the season.
