How to Lead: Lead loading a body panel to get a metal finish
Classic Car program demonstration of Lead Loading. I normally lead load with a large (10-12) nozzle and a soft longer than normal flame on the acetylene plant but most of my classic car students don't have the gas bottles at home/work so I borrowed this blow torch from the plumbing department to show it can also be done with the smaller plumbers torch, cheaper ones also work but the wider the flame the better).
I am now teaching classic vehicle fabrication, body repair and restoration skills at Heritage Skills Academy based at Bicester Heritage and Brooklands Museum, please look up www.heritageskillsacademy.co.uk if your interested in any of our courses.
