This Ancient Well Makes Salt From 1,000 Meters Deep

In the city of Zigong, an ancient salt well from 1835 still produces one of the purest salts in China. The Shenhai Well reaches over 1,000 meters underground—brine is drawn up, refined with soy milk, and boiled into salt the traditional way. A forgotten technology… still alive today.
